Abstract

Purpose : This study confirms the recognition of precocious puberty among parents raising elementary school children.
Method : It is a descriptive research study that analyzes the perception of precocious puberty among 280 parents in the first and sixth grades of elementary school from October 1, 2019 to January 30, 2020.

Results : The perception of precocious puberty of elementary school students was derived into 27 meaningful statements and 11 categories as a result of analyzing the contents of the concept, cause, treatment, and prevention education of precocious puberty according to the procedure of the content analysis method.

Conclusion : Through the results of this study, it is necessary to develop an effective precocious puberty prevention program that reflects the characteristics of students. In addition, children¡¯s health management methods and psychological counseling programs should be implemented.
